• Bellerochea malleus: Brightwell

Cells organised in curved or straight colonies. In girdle view the cells appear rectangular, while in valve view they appear bi- or quadrangular. The valve surface is distinctive in that the central part appears depressed due to the raised corners. On the valve surface and on the cingulum there are siliceous ribs. The space between two cells is a distinctive handlebar shape, facilitating recognition.
