Species details
The cell is thecate, of large dimensions, elongated, composed of a reduced “head” (epitheca) and a "body" (hypotheca) of variable length with a swelling in the centre that terminates in an elongated "tail". At the extremity of the tail is the slightly curved “foot". In addition there is a prominent spine on the heel and two anterior spines on the foot.

Distribution: Atlantic Ocean: Canary Islands (Gil-Rodríguez et al., 2003; Anon, 2011); South America: Brazil (Odebrecht, 2010).
