The cell is biflagellate, oval-shaped and surrounded by a yellow-brown lorica. The anterior part of the lorica is cylindrical while the posterior part is conical. There are clearly visible striae on the surface.

- Cell Width: from 2 to 3 µm
Marine and brackish environments.
