Morphological Characteristics

Cells green, elongate cylindrical to ellipsoidal, could be slightly flattened, anterior end rounded or slightly truncate and posterior end narrowed to a blunt point. Pellicle delicately striated. Paramylon bodies rod-shaped. Chloroplasts parietal and numerous, lens-shaped, each with a pyrenoid.
