Morphological Characteristics

The cell is thecate, solitary, of medium dimensions. The almost circular cingulum divides the body of the cell into two parts, both conical: the epitheca and the hypotheca, from the antapex of which 4 spines emerge. The cell contains yellow-brown chloroplasts.
