- Lauderia borealis: Gran (1900)
Solitary or joined in straight colonies in which the space between the cells is very small. In girdle view the frustule is rectangular, while in valve view it appears circular. The valve surface has very thin ribs radiating from the central area. On both the valve surface and the margin there are numerous fultoportulae. Distributed throughout the cytoplasm, numerous discoid chloroplasts may be visible.

Marine, typical of warm and temperate waters.
Distribution: Europe: Croatia (Vilicic et al., 2009); Atlantic Ocean: Canary Islands (Gil-Rodríguez et al., 2003); Antarctic Ocean : Antarctica (Scott and Thomas, 2005).
