- Navicula distans : (W.Smith) Schmidt (1876)
Solitary. In girdle view appear rectangular, slightly constricted in the middle. In valve view they appear lanceolate. On the surface of the valve there are radial striae. The cell contains two chloroplasts, one on each side of the raphe.

- Cell Width: from 14 to 18 µm
- Striae in 10 µm: from 6 to 6 n°
Marine, planktonic.
Distribution: as Navicula distans, Europe: Romania (Caraus, 2002); Atlantic: Canary Islands (Gil-Rodríguez et al., 2003).
