Morphological Characteristics

Cells drum shaped and concentrically waved, where one shell in the middle is concave, another in the middle is convex. The valves are with polygonal big areolae (in LM appears round), the rows of areolae often is indistinct or absent, the areolae are arranged irregularly. In the mantle the areolae are fine.

In eutrophicated fresh waters and brackish coastal zones.
