Morphological Characteristics

The trichomes are free-floating, planktonic, straight or curved, solitary, cylindrical, slightly constricted or not constricted at cross-walls, narrowed towards ends, at the end pointed. Cells cylindrical,  longer than wide; apical cells elongated, mainly hyaline, attenuated and pointed. The heterocytes develop only intercalary, solitary, cylindrical. Trichomes have subsymmetric structure.
