- Navicula amphora : Ehrenberg (1832)
- Frustulia ovalis : Kützing (1833)
- Amphora ocellata : Ehrenberg (1838)
- Amphora amphora : (Ehrenberg) Pantocsek (1902)
Solitary. The large frustule has an elliptical shape with the truncated extremities. In girdle view the valves appear crescent-shaped. In valve view the dorsal valve is curved while the ventral valve is slightly concave. The raphe is biarcuate and there are striae on both sides.
